asked the Minister for Defence if he can now state what are the Government's proposals for giving (1) reestablishment grants and (2) other reestablishment facilities or assistance to temporary officers and other ranks leaving the Army on return to civil life.

Proposals have not yet been put before the Government and it is not possible, therefore; at this stage to furnish the information asked for by the Deputy.

Can the Minister say when it is possible the proposals will be put before the Government?

No; I cannot give a definite date.
