Vol. 95 No. 11

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Offaly Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he has received representations from local smallholders and landless men for the division of lands on the Alexandra estate, Eglish, Birr, County Offaly; if he proposes to send an inspector to this area with a view to ascertaining the demand for land division there, and if he will state what action he intends to take in regard to the estate in question.

Representations have been received urging the acquisition of the lands of Samuel Alexander, at Eglish, County Offaly, to which the question appears to refer.

There are no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands and, owing to the emergency conditions, the Land Commission are not in a position to take any action in the matter.
