Vol. 95 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turf Railed from Listowel.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state the number of wagons loaded with turf and railed from Listowel station, County Kerry, from week commencing November 13th, 1944, to the end of December, 1944, and the names of the consignors.

The number of wagons including converted coaches loaded with turf and railed from Listowel station for the period from 13th November, 1944, to 31st December, 1944, was 112. These wagons were loaded by 16 suppliers. I am not prepared to give the names of the consignors. Wagons are allocated to fuel merchants and industrial users on the basis of their urgent requirements as confirmed by the local officers of the Turf Development Board and they are at liberty to choose their own suppliers.
