Vol. 97 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tuberculosis Hospital for County Waterford.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is prepared to have the old workhouse buildings at Kilmacthomas, County Waterford, repaired and fitted out as a tuberculosis hospital for County Waterford.

The former workhouse buildings at Kilmacthomas have been recently inspected. They are not considered suitable for use as a tuberculosis institution. The regional sanatorium to be established in the vicinity of Cork under the provisions of the Tuberculosis (Establishment of Sanatoria) Act, 1945, will contain 700 beds and include institutional accommodation for patients from Waterford County.
