Vol. 97 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Amenities in County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the grave hardship suffered by the residents of Shrule, County Mayo, due to the condition of the passage at the rear of their houses, and that the Land Commission undertook to construct a new road for these tenants a considerable time ago; and, if so, if he will state the reasons for prolonged delay in the undertaking of this urgent work.

Provision was made in April, 1944, for the repair and construction of the road in Shrule village. Owing to difficulties connected with rearrangement of certain holdings the work was held up. The difficulties are now almost overcome and it is hoped that it will be possible to commence work on the road almost at once.
