Vol. 98 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disposal of Army Boots.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state if it is proposed to sell by auction, or otherwise, the reserve supply of Army boots; and, if not, how it is intended to dispose of them; and if his Department has received requests from traders in the Midlands, who cannot procure an adequate supply of boots for their customers, to sell Army boots to them; and if he will indicate if he proposes to accede to their requests.

I have received requests from traders in the Midlands and other parts of the country to sell Army boots to them, but as there are no stocks of Army boots surplus to requirements, I am unable to accede to the requests.
