Vol. 100 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the acute congestion that exists in the Dalgan area at Shrule, County Mayo; further, if he is aware that Mr. McDonagh, the owner of the lands known as Dalgan Demesne, is, at the moment, in negotiation for the private sale of these lands; and, accordingly, if he will take immediate steps to ensure that these lands are acquired by the Land Commission for the relief of local congestion.

The Land Commission propose to have an inspection made of the lands of Dalgan Demesne and Carrowmore, County Mayo, owned by Messrs. Thomas McDonagh and Son, but they cannot at present state if these lands will be acquired.
