Vol. 101 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes (Co. Dublin).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state how many schemes for the provision of water and sewerage in County Dublin have been submitted to him by the county commissioner; whether all of these schemes have been sanctioned by his Department; and further when these schemes will be put into operation or advertised for tender.

The following schemes submitted by the Commissioner for the Dublin County Council since 1941 have been approved and completed:—

Sewerage schemes at Finglas and Rush; sewerage extensions at Coolock, Whitehall and Balbriggan; water supplies at Grange and Garristown; extensions of water supplies at Bally owen and Finglas; and the provision of water supply and sewerage services to cottages at Coolock and Swords. Work on a sewerage scheme for Lucan is in progress. In addition to these schemes, approval was given recently to an extension of the water supply and sewerage service at Ashtown.

Plans have been submitted and are under examination for the provision of water supplies at Newcastle and Blanchardstown, of sewerage schemes at Palmerstown and Lusk, and for extensions at Rathfarnham, Foxrock and Ballymun Road. It is not possible to state at present when tenders will be invited in these cases.
