Vol. 103 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Congestion.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what action, if any, has been taken to relieve congestion in the townlands of Ballinhoe and Bohogue; and if he is aware of the unsatisfactory conditions under which the tenants of holdings in the above townlands are living.

Land for the relief of congestion has been made available by the migration of four tenants from these townlands. Enlargements have thus been provided for five other landholders and the improvement of further holdings is contemplated as soon as circumstances permit.

I desire to give notice that I intend to raise the subject matter of Question 45 on the adjournment of the House to-night or tomorrow night.

I understand that there are proceedings pending for slander arising out of this incident and I respectfully submit that the matter should not be discussed in this House until these proceedings are terminated.

The people of South Mayo will discuss you and the like of you. You are late with that; you are a year behind.
