Vol. 104 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Limerick Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire for division amongst suitable local applicants, the lands of Bridget Gaffney, deceased, of Ballyvinteroorke, County Limerick; and if so, if he will state when division proceedings are likely to commence.

There are no proceedings pending for the acquisition of the lands of Ballyvinteroorkewood in the possession of the representatives of Bridget Gaffney, deceased.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that permission has been refused to Mr. Edmond Ryan, Turraheen, Rossmore, Goold's Cross, County Tipperary, to cut down a number of larch trees close to his house; whether he is also aware that these trees are old and decaying; that some of them are a danger to the dwellinghouse and outoffices and to the public road, and that Mr. Ryan intends to do the necessary replanting; and if he will have the matter reconsidered and grant the necessary felling permission.

In accordance with normal practice, felling was prohibited in Mr. Ryan's case pending an inspection of the trees. The inspection has since been carried out and a communication has been sent to Mr. Ryan notifying him of the terms on which felling will be permitted.
