Vol. 106 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Accommodation at Cahirciveen.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the necessity for the erection of a district hospital at Cahirciveen; and if he will state if it is intended to provide one there in the near future.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The erection of a district hospital for Cahirciveen is under consideration in conjunction with the other hospital proposals submitted by the local authority. Having regard to the heavy commitments of the Hospitals Trust Fund and the present condition of the county finances, I am not at present in a position to indicate when these works could be allowed to proceed to contract.
