Vol. 107 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Appointment of Fisheries Committees.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will consider appointing, in each of the maritime counties, a fisheries committee, on lines similar to the county committees of agriculture, for the purpose of organising the sea-fishing industry on modern lines; and if so, whether he will indicate the steps which he proposes to take for this purpose.

I am not satisfied that the appointment of a fisheries committee in each of the maritime counties would serve the purpose intended, and I do not propose, therefore, to take steps to set up such committees.
