Vol. 109 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Houses.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that houses erected by the Land Commission at: (a) Bishopscourt, Straffan; (b) Sherlockstown, Sallins; and (c) Pluckstown, Straffan, are at present unoccupied; and whether, in view of the acute shortage of houses in the district, he will give favourable consideration to the question of letting the houses to local persons.

The Land Commission are aware that allottees at (1) Bishopscourt, Straffan, and (2) Sherlockstown, Sallins, have failed to take up residence in the dwellinghouses on their allotments. The case at Pluckstown, Straffan, is the subject of inquiries.

If and when the Land Commission obtains possession of houses and lands on these or other estates no time will be lost in finding fresh occupants.
