Vol. 110 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state: (a) when application forms for grants under the 1947 Housing Act will be available to applicants, and (b) if a person who has made application for a grant under a previous Act but who has not yet actually commenced operations will be entitled to the more generous terms provided by the 1947 Act.

Mr. Murphy

I regret to find that only a limited quantity of application forms is at present available. These are being issued to applicants as quickly as possible, but where large supplies are requested, as is happening in the case of public utility societies, an interim supply is being issued and the balance will be sent out as soon as the new issue is received from the printers. I am doing everything possible to meet requirements with the least possible delay. As to (b), the answer is "yes" subject to compliance with the provisions of the Act.
