asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the maximum grants available under the Gaeltacht Housing Scheme are inadequate; and, if so, whether he will now take steps to introduce legislation with a view to having such grants increased to the maximum amount allowed under the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave on the 10th March last when I stated that the amendment of the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts is under consideration with a view to bringing the assistance under these Acts into line with the assistance authorised under the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948.
