Vol. 110 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Meath Telephone Equipment.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if it is proposed to install new switchboards and other new equipment at Trim, Navan and Kells post offices, and, if so, whether the necessary material is available to have this work done at an early date.

An additional switchboard was installed at Kells last year which will meet requirements at this exchange for some time. Carrier equipment was also installed there recently which enabled additional trunk circuits to be obtained on the Dublin-Kells and the Dublin-Navan routes.

Additional switchboard equipment will be installed at Trim and Navan exchanges as early as circumstances permit. It is also proposed to provide carrier equipment on the Dublin-Navan route which, with certain line rearrangements, will give additional circuits between Dublin, Navan and Kells.
