Vol. 110 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delay in Payment for Turf.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state why turf delivered in Cork since January last to Messrs. Fuel Importers (Éire), Limited, by producers in West Clare has not yet been paid for.

I am informed that the delays to which the Deputy refers arise from the difficulty of identifying at the Cork dump individual consignments which had to be transhipped from the narrow gauge to the broad gauge railway at Ennis. Fuel Importers, Ltd., have been in correspondence with Córas Iompair Éireann in the matter and it is hoped that these difficulties will be eliminated at an early date.
