Vol. 110 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castletownroche Transport Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the people of Castletownroche and the surrounding district have now no means of public conveyance to Cork City; that at present one train only arrives there at 1.15 p.m. and the only outward one leaves at 2 p.m.; that under the altered time table coming into force on the 1st June, 1948, any person leaving Castletownroche for Cork will have to stay the night in Cork City; and if, in the circumstances, he will immediately direct Córas Iompair Éireann to restore the bus service to and from Castletownroche on the Cork to Kilfinnane route.

I am making inquiries from Córas Iompair Éireann in regard to the transport facilities in this area and I hope to be in a position to furnish a reply in two weeks if the Deputy will then repeat his question.
