asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that there is no bus service from Mulranny to Geesalia, County Mayo, via Ballycroy, and if in view of the fact that some of the people in this thickly-populated area live almost 12 miles from the nearest bus he will direct Córas Iompair Éireann to provide a bus service on this route as soon as possible.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that they have recently investigated the possibility of providing a bus service on this route. They find, however, that the road is altogether unsuitable for bus traffic.
