Vol. 110 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sugar Rationing.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the conditions now prevailing, to which he referred in his reply to a question on May 12th, which in his view make it inadvisable to end the rationing of sugar or to increase the amount of the ration.

I had in mind the world political conditions now obtaining and the element of uncertainty which exists regarding the future procurement of supplies at a level sufficient to meet all needs without rationing.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary state if it would have been possible to increase the ration if the Government had not decided to increase the export of chocolate crumb?

I do not think so.
