Vol. 112 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Fountains.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware (1) that about 15 years ago when a water supply was installed in Sneem, County Kerry, a promise was given that two fountains would be erected for the use of those who could not afford to take a private supply; (2) that two pumps were brought to Sneem for this purpose but were later taken away; and, if so, whether he will state why these pumps were removed, where they were subsequently erected and when the promised fountains will be provided in Sneem.

Mr. Murphy

I have no information in regard to the matter; but I shall make inquiries and communicate with the Deputy. The question of supplementing the existing water supply at Sneem by the provision of fountains is primarily a matter for the local authority.
