Vol. 114 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Poultry Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that poultry buyers are purchasing chickens at prices considerably below those announced by his Department; and, if so, whether he will take steps to ensure that licensed exporters pay the official price to producers.

So far as I am aware the price for spring cockerels which has been announced by my Department is being paid generally throughout the country for birds conforming to the required conditions regarding quality and preparation.

I shall be glad to investigate any cases where lower prices have been paid, if the Deputy will be good enough to supply me with particulars.
