Vol. 117 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Title of Judges in Court.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will take up with the appropriate authority the matter of the title to be used in addressing judges in court with a view to the abolition of the titles "My Lord" and "Your Lordship", which are inconsistent with the dignity and rights of citizens of a republic.

The form of address to be adopted to judges is one of the matters that falls to be settled by rule of court. It has been so settled in what I consider a suitable form and I am not disposed to make any representations on the subject to the rule-making authority.

What will you do about King's Counsel?

Put them in the slander class you are running.

Stick them in the telephone book.
