Vol. 118 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Officers who Received Medals.

asked the Minister for Defence whether the officers to whom emergency service medals were recently presented at military barracks in Dublin and Cork were regular, reserve or emergency officers or a combination of all three classes.

The officers to whom the emergency service medals were presented at parades recently held in military barracks in Dublin and Cork were, with one exception, officers of the permanent force. One officer of the Reserve of Officers—First Line— was presented with the medal at a parade held in a military barracks in Dublin. The officer in question was at the time undergoing annual training in Dublin and the opportunity was availed of to make the presentation whilst he was in military service.
