Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocation of Fermoy Houses.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any complaint in connection with the method adopted by Fermoy Urban Council in the allocation of 16 houses recently built in that town; and whether he is prepared to have an inquiry made into the method of allocation should he be satisfied by reliable evidence that there is reasonable cause therefor.

Complaints were received by me in regard to these lettings. The matter was investigated locally by officers of my Department prior to the allocation of the dwellings. I do not consider that any further inquiry is necessary, as I am satisfied that the method of allocation adopted was not open to objection.
