Vol. 121 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Passenger Services to Ireland.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the difficulty intending visitors to Ireland have in securing travel tickets from various parts of England, Scotland and Wales; and, if so, if he will ask the shipping companies to augment their service by providing extra ships.

I have no statutory function in regard to the provision of passenger accommodation on the cross-Channel services, but I understand that the companies are arranging to provide additional sailings during the summer months.
