Vol. 121 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Clare Drainage.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the urgency of dealing with drainage at Ballinacragga and Ing, Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, and if he will state the present position in regard to it.

As the areas mentioned are a considerable distance apart, this question would seem to envisage an extensive drainage scheme which would not come within the scope of the Land Commission's activities. The Land Commission execute drainage works on lands in their possession and, on occasion, on lands' recently allotted. In this connection, they propose to drain certain lands in Ing and Ing East. This work will, incidentally, benefit adjoining townlands, but not Ballinacragga, which is some three miles away.
