Vol. 125 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Search Authorisation.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that members of the Garda Síochána who entered the house of Mr. Patrick Malone, Stonepark, Barefield, Ennis, on the 6th and 7th March failed to produce a warrant when requested by the owner; and, if so, if he will state the statutory authority under which they were acting.

I am informed that members of the Garda visited the house referred to for the purpose of making inquiries regarding a case of malicious damage to property. As they did not intend to search the house and, in fact, did not do so, they were not in possession of a search warrant.
