Vol. 126 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Granting of Building Licence.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for what reasons the building licence was given to Mitchelstown Co-operative Society for (a) the bacon factory, and (b) the cheese factory.

Mitchelstown Co-operative Agricultural Society, Limited, was granted a building licence on 6th March, 1950, for the erection of premises for the production of bacon. Later the society intimated that it proposed to defer the erection of the bacon factory but that it wished to put up premises for the manufacture of cheese for which there was a growing export market. The licence for the erection of a bacon factory was cancelled, and a licence for the erection of a cheese factory was issued on 2nd March, 1951.
