Vol. 127 No. 1

Questions— Written Answers. - Milling of Crops.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that many farmers in County Kildare have their wheat threshed and in sacks in the fields for days as the mills will not take it; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to see that this cause of loss to the farmers concerned will be removed.

Mr. Walsh

I am not aware that the position is as represented by the Deputy. The facilities for drying and storing wheat in County Kildare are adequate to meet present requirements. If the Deputy will furnish me with particulars of cases in which farmers have difficulty in disposing of their wheat, arrangements will be made for the collection of such wheat without delay.
