Vol. 127 No. 1

Questions— Written Answers. - Price of Eggs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the price egg producers will receive for their eggs under the new agreement and the period covered by the agreement.

Mr. Walsh

As I informed the Dáil on 19th July last, there was a meeting between officials of my Department and the British Ministry of Food on 9th July to discuss the egg agreement due to expire on 31st January next, and the price to be paid by the British Ministry of Food for our eggs in 1952-53 and thereafter. That discussion was to be resumed, but circumstances in Great Britain necessitated postponement of a further meeting with the British officials. It is hoped that this will take place in the near future.
