Vol. 127 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Petrol Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) what system of allocation of petrol supplies for this country obtains at present; (b) whether under this system sufficient supplies are at present available, and (c) whether reasonably sufficient future supplies are assured.

There is no official international control over the distribution of petrol. The importing oil companies catering for this market are at present importing supplies of petrol sufficient to meet the full requirements of the market and there is no reason to anticipate any change in this position, unless there are adverse international developments.
