Vol. 127 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will have the lands held by the Department of Defence at Billeragh, Kilworth, County Cork, inspected by his Department with a view to taking them over on the grounds that they are subject to bad husbandry at present.

These lands came into possession of the State by the transfer of Government in 1922 and are still State property. That being so they cannot be acquired by the Land Commission and, consequently, it would serve no purpose to have the lands inspected. In any event I understand the lands are required for military purposes.
