Vol. 128 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Survey of Departmental Organisation.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has continued the survey of departmental organisation carried out prior to the conclusion of the last financial year; and, if so, if he will state the estimated saving resulting therefrom.

The survey of departmental organisation is a continuous process to which, however, special attention has been given in recent years. Certain special survey measures were decided on in 1947 and added to in 1949. Most of these are still in operation and are likely to continue for several years. So far these measures have resulted in savings which are estimated to exceed £70,000 per annum.
