Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Roscommon Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate the progress made by the Land Commission towards acquiring the holding of Mr. Michael Naughton, situated in Coolumber (Kyle estate), County Roscommon, for the purpose of relieving congestion.

The proceedings for the resumption of the holding in question have reached the final stages.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring Mr. John Naughten's lands (approximately 400 acres) on Thomastown demesne, County Roscommon; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the aquisition of this estate but inquiries are being made.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring Mr. Fahy's lands, Kinnitty, County Roscommon, for the purpose of relieving congestion; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission instituted proceedings for the acquisition of three different estates of Fahy in Kinnitty townland. In two of these cases, the proceedings are still in progress, while in the third case an objection to acquisition was allowed.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have acquired the estate of Mr. Arthur Browne, situated in the townland of Falsk, in the Strokestown area; and, if so, when a scheme for the division of these lands is likely to be put into operation.

The proceedings for the acquisition of the lands in question are expected to be completed very shortly.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring for division the non-residential holding at Glenn and Tully, County Roscommon, at present in the possession of Mr. J. Glancy, who resides at Ballyconnell, County Cavan; and, if so, with what result.

This estate has been inspected and the question of acquisition is at present under consideration.
