Vol. 129 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will indicate the cause of the delay in the acceptance of the tender submitted by the contractor for rural houses in Fermoy, Kanturk and Mallow rural areas and when he will give approval to the tenders submitted for building rural houses in these areas.

The latest date fixed by Cork County Council for the receipt of tenders for the housing schemes in question was the 24th November, 1951. I understand that, following the examination of the tenders, the council have found it necessary to correspond with the lowest tenderer with a view to clarifying certain aspects of his proposals.

No proposal to accept a tender for these schemes has been submitted for my approval.
