Vol. 131 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Pigs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in the interests of the national economy, he will encourage the export of pigs as dead meat rather than export live pigs and so create extra employment in our home-curing factories and retain valuable byproducts for consumption in this country.

Mr. Walsh

The export prices recently announced for live pigs and pork carcases favour exports in the latter form.
