Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Auxiliary Postman.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state (a) the number of persons whose names were submitted to the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, as suitable applicants for the vacancy for an auxiliary postman at Abbeydorney, County Kerry; (b) the number who had served in the Army; (c) the number who were married, and (d) the amount of unemployment assistance received by each of the applicants.

The information required by the Deputy is as follows: (a) six; (b) as far as the employment exchange records show there was one, who served during the period 1916-1923, and who is the holder of a military service medal; (c) four; (d) the weekly rates of unemployment assistance being paid to the six men submitted were 23/-, 22/-, 21/6, 17/6, 16/- and 15/6.

Which one was appointed?
