Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ground Limestone.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in respect of the last financial year (1) the amount of the subsidy paid on ground limestone, (2) the quantity delivered and/or spread by Córas Iompair Éireann in their own trucks, (3) the amount of the subsidy paid to Córas Iompaír Éireann, (4) the quantity delivered and/or spread by concerns other than Córas Iompair Éireann, and (5) the amount of the subsidy paid to those concerns.

The particulars asked for are :—(1) £189,902 10s. 2d., (2) 79,865 tons, (3) £86,998 6s. 5d., (4) 158,525 tons, (5) £102,904 8s. 9d.

The Deputy will no doubt appreciate that the rate of subsidy is related not only to the tonnage delivered but also to the length of the haul.
