Vol. 131 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballylongford Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if his Department received plans and specifications from the Kerry County Council for a proposed sewerage scheme at Ballylongford, County Kerry; and, if so, the date of receipt and the reason for the delay in giving sanction.

Preliminary plans for this scheme were received on 20th April, 1951. In response to a request from the Department the views of the county medical officer on the proposals were submitted on 5th June, 1951.

Since then two local inspections have been made in connection with the scheme and discussions have taken place between an engineering inspector of the Department and the technical advisers of the sanitary authority. Arising out of the discussions the consulting engineer is revising the scheme with a view to simplification in a number of respects.

His revised proposals are awaited.
