Vol. 133 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mitchelstown Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department have received the plans and specifications for a new sewerage scheme in Mitchelstown; and, if so, whether he has sanctioned or rejected same.

Last month my Department was informed that the northern committee of the sanitary authority had decided to proceed with a comprehensive sewerage scheme for the disposal of the town sewage and effluent from the local creamery. A lay-out plan and estimate of cost for a new disposal works for Mitchelstown sewerage scheme had already been submitted to my Department with an intimation that the proposal was to be considered by the committee. It has been indicated in reply that the plan is generally in order from the technical point of view but that the financial aspects should be reconsidered.
