Vol. 135 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Artificial Insemination.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when it is intended to extend the cattle artificial insemination system to the entire County of Wicklow.

Arrangements have been made with the Dublin District Milk Board for the establishment of two sub-stations to the Grange Artificial Insemination Station which will provide a service for most of County Wicklow. The service will, it is expected, commence within a couple of months. A further sub-station, which will provide a service for the small remaining portion of the county, is envisaged as soon as possible thereafter.

Can the Minister state where the stations will be?

Mr. Walsh

One is at present going on in Wicklow town and another at Kilcullen.

The third will be somewhere in South Wicklow?

Mr. Walsh

There will be one later on; at the moment we are putting up two.
