Vol. 135 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fishery Limits.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he now proposes to apply the International Court decision concerning fishery limits to our coast line, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has received a copy of the unanimous resolution of the Killybegs harbour commissioners requesting an extension of our territorial waters in accordance with the Hague decision of 18th November, 1951; and, if so, what steps he proposes taking to implement the resolution.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 68 together.

I have received a copy of the resolution referred to in Question No. 68. Departmental consideration of the decision of the International Court has not yet been completed but considerable progress has been made in that regard. The matter is one of much legal and technical difficulty and I regret that I cannot say when I may be in a position to make a statement.
