Vol. 135 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow Public Right of Way.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state if a public right of way has been or is to be established through the Oranmore and Browne estate, County Wicklow, from the Sally-gap road to Lough Dan.

The Tourist Traffic Act, 1952, confers powers on An Bord Fáilte to provide or improve means of access to places of scenic or other interest to the public. The Deputy will understand, however, that it is the responsibility of An Bord Fáilte to decide in respect of what places they will exercise the powers conferred on them, and I do not think it would be desirable that I should attempt to influence their decisions in such matters. It is, of course, open to the Deputy to take the matter up with An Bord Fáilte.
