Vol. 136 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

andMr. M.P. Murphyasked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the lands at Farranmareen, Enniskeane, for sub-division; and, if so, when and whether allotments will be confined to local applicants.

The Land Commission recently acquired a considerable area in thistownland but it is not possible at present to indicate when allotment will take place. The claims of local applicants will be fully considered.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the non-residential farm of Mr. Charles Duignan, Clooneyquinn, County Roscommon, for the purpose of division amongst deserving applicants; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of this estate and have reached an advanced stage.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the remainder of the Walker estate, Rathcarrick, County Sligo; and, if so, with what result.

Proceedings for the purchase of 773 acres of this estate are nearing completion.

That does not relate to the question. Do I take it that the Land Commission has no intention of acquiring the remainder of the estate?

I think the Deputy would have to put down a question.

I asked specifically about acquisition of the remainder of the Walker estate, which is the demesne, if you like.

What is the remainder?

The demesne, if you like.

I will try to let the Deputy have the information.

Thank you.
