Vol. 137 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grain Imports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total quantity of (i) malting barley; (ii) feeding barley and (iii) maize or milo imported in 1952.

The quantity of barley imported in 1952 was 35,782 cwt. The quantity of barley seeds imported was 25,904 cwt. As the Official Import List does not distinguish between malting and feeding barley, it is not possible to give separate figures for these types. The quantity of maize and milo imported in 1952 was 2,862,827 cwt.
