Vol. 137 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Schemes: Expenditure.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the total annual expenditure by his Department on farm improvement, farm building and land reclamation, in each of the past ten years.

Mr. Walsh

The figures available enable me to give the total expenditure, under one of the heads mentioned by the Deputy. Under the other two heads, namely, the farm improvements and the farm buildings schemes, the only information readily available is in respect of the grants paid under these schemes.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with your permision, a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated in the form of a statement in the Official Report.

The statement is as follows:—

Farm Improvements Scheme Grants (including Lime Subsidies for Congested Districts only)
