Vol. 138 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Broadcast of Report of Dublin Fish Market.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider having a daily report of the Dublin fish market broadcast from Radio Eireann after the morning news bulletin.

As I indicated in the course of the Estimate for Wireless Broadcasting Services the reorganisation recently effected in Radio Éireann was carried out with the object of giving the maximum freedom and initiative to the comhairle and the director, leaving to the Estimate discussion the opportunity for comment and criticism of the service.

In future, I would ask Deputies to co-operate in this matter and to make observations direct to the director to the maximum degree.

I have been informed by the Director that arrangements have been made to broadcast fish market prices in the 9 a.m. news bulletin.
