Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Harbour Improvements Grants.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (1) the names of the harbour authorities who have made application for harbour improvement grants, (2) the names of the harbour authorities whose applications have been sanctioned, and (3) the amount of the Government contribution and local contribution in each case.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement and, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, it will be circulated with the Official Report.

(1) The following harbour authorities have made application for harbour improvement grants to my Department since 1946:—

Arklow,

Ballina,

Baltimore and Skibbereen,

Buncrana,

Burtonport,

Cork,

Dingle,

Drogheda,

Dublin,

Dundalk,

Dungarvan,

Foynes,

Galway,

Killybegs,

Limerick,

New Ross,

Rathmullen,

Sligo,

Tralee and Fenit,

Waterford,

Westport,

Wexford,

Wicklow,

Youghal.

(2) and (3) State grants have been sanctioned in respect of the following harbours. The amounts of the State contribution and of the local contribution, so far as at present determinable, are indicated in each case.
