Vol. 142 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - State-Sponsored Industry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the type of industry which he hopes to see established under State auspices, as referred to by him in his concluding speech on the Estimate for his Department.

Until consideration of the proposals to which I referred has been completed, it would be premature to say more than I said in Dáil Éireann on the 4th November.

Could the Minister not even mention the type of industry?

That is precisely what I was anxious to avoid until definite proposals are ready.

When does the Minister hope to conclude investigations?

Hope is my strongest virtue.

Have the investigations gone any distance?

Yes, a considerable distance.

I take it we will be told about it during the Cork by-election.
